55-year-old Learjet captain Jeff Gregory recited the ‘Lord’s Prayer’ seconds before plane crash

The final moments of a deadly flight have revealed a deeply emotional detail about Captain Jeff Gregory, the 55-year-old pilot who lost his life when a private Learjet crashed in Florida.

The aircraft was traveling from Austin, Texas, toward the Bahamas on November 1, 2026, when it encountered severe difficulties. Ice accumulation and turbulence were reported as the plane began losing altitude rapidly. Its 20-year-old co-pilot, Nathalia Gadelha Filgueiras, desperately communicated with air traffic control as the situation deteriorated.

Then, amid the terrifying final radio transmissions, a man’s voice could reportedly be heard reciting the Lord’s Prayer. Friends believe it was Gregory, a devoted Christian whose faith was an important part of his life.

All nine people aboard the aircraft died. Gregory leaves behind his wife, Cheryl, and three children.

Investigators are now examining the wreckage and weather conditions to establish what happened.

In the midst of an unimaginable tragedy, it was the captain’s reported final prayer that brought a deeply personal and heartbreaking dimension to the story.
