He Closed His Eyes for a Moment… Then Everything Changed

It was supposed to be a quiet night at home.

A tired father was holding his two-month-old baby when exhaustion finally took over. He closed his eyes for what may have been only moments.

When he woke up, his son was no longer breathing.

The tragedy happened in Jardim das Américas, where paramedics from SAMU rushed to the home but could do nothing to save the infant. The baby had apparently fallen from his father’s arms, turning an ordinary moment of exhaustion into an unimaginable loss.

Now, investigators are trying to reconstruct exactly what happened during those final moments.

The Civil Police have begun examining the circumstances surrounding the death, while relatives and possible witnesses are being questioned. A report from the Forensic Medical Institute has also become part of the investigation.

The central question is heartbreaking: was this a tragic accident, or was something else involved?

At this stage, investigators have not reached a final conclusion.

For the family, however, there is no investigation that can undo what happened. A father is left facing devastating grief, while loved ones struggle with questions that may take time to answer.
