Rene is an inspiring mother from America who shared her remarkable journey of raising her daughter, Kennedy. Kennedy was born with Down syndrome, and when she was born, the doctors didn’t have high hopes for her future.
They advised Rene to consider giving Kennedy up because they believed her life would be full of difficulties and limitations. She got opportunities to work with well-known agencies, participate in screenings in New York and Los Angeles, and even appear on popular TV shows like “This Is Us.” She also starred in advertisements for the US Census. Despite all these achievements, Kennedy is still a typical teenager in many ways. She loves talking about boys, making TikTok videos, hanging out at the mall, and chatting with her friends.
Kennedy also dedicates time to visiting schools, where she educates children about Down syndrome and spreads awareness. Rene looks back on the years and recognizes how much society has grown in understanding and accepting people with Down syndrome. Today, Rene feels proud to share Kennedy’s story and to see how much has changed since the days when she was advised to give up her daughter.
