Angie Ver Huel’s wedding day was approaching, and she had meticulously planned every detail to ensure it went perfectly. Weddings can be stressful, with brides having to consider everything from the dress and shoes to the bridesmaids and the venue. It’s an event that often leaves couples vowing never to go through it again. However, Angie was determined to make her big day special, and she had some surprises in store for her guests.
Angie, who worked as a teacher at South Middle School in her hometown of Waukee, Iowa, had always dreamed of finding her prince charming and starting a perfect family. When she met Justin, she knew he was the one. He was smart, good-looking, funny, and had a stable job at a bank. Their love story led to an engagement in September 2013, and they spent a year meticulously preparing for their wedding.
Justin’s colleagues were thrilled for him, except for one individual who didn’t share their joy. On May 8, 2014, the night before their wedding, tragedy struck. Justin and Angie were at his parents’ house, eagerly anticipating their big day. However, in the middle of the night, Justin’s mother, Marie Michael, heard a terrifying sound from downstairs, followed by gunshots. Angie screamed in horror, and Marie knew something dreadful had occurred.
Justin had been shot multiple times, even as he slept beside his fiancée. When Angie woke up, she found Justin lying next to her, severely wounded. Marie called the police, who immediately began investigating the unusual case. Initially, suspicion fell on Angie, but it soon became clear that she was innocent, and the police were dealing with a complex situation.
What should have been the happiest day of their lives had turned into a nightmare. Angie was baffled as to who could commit such a heinous act, and the police considered various scenarios. Thirty minutes after the gunshots, they found an abandoned car near a highway. It belonged to David Moffitt, Angie’s ex-boyfriend who had left her a message when she started dating Justin. David worked with Justin and had not been pleased about their engagement.
Inside the car, the police discovered a shoebox with a bill in the name of Andrew Wegener, another of Angie’s ex-boyfriends. Further investigation revealed that David had been using Andrew’s name to frame him for a horrific murder.
A year later, David received his sentence, bringing a sense of relief to Angie that the real culprit had been identified. This shocking turn of events serves as a reminder that sometimes the most unexpected individuals can be involved in heinous crimes, and justice prevails in the end.
