Juanita Lira Eguiguren, a remarkable figure in the health and wellness community, tragically passed away at the age of 30 after a long battle with breast cancer.
Juanita’s battle with cancer began in 2015 when she was just 22 years old. At that time, she was preparing to embark on an exciting new chapter in her life, planning to study design in Barcelona, Spain. However, her plans were abruptly halted when she received the devastating diagnosis of breast cancer just days before her scheduled departure. Faced with this life-changing news, Juanita made the difficult decision to cancel her trip and focus all her energy on fighting the disease.
Undergoing surgery and radiation therapy, Juanita hoped to rid her body of the tumor cells and return to a normal life. Her strength and resilience shone through as she continued her studies and even found love, eventually getting married during this period of remission.
Despite these positive developments, her battle was far from over. In 2017, Juanita received the heartbreaking news that her cancer had returned, this time spreading to her lungs, lymph nodes, and sternum.
Determined not to let her illness define her, Juanita made the bold decision to start her own business, “The Healthy Route.” Through this venture, she provided healthy catering services and shared valuable health information with a growing community. Her dedication to promoting wellness quickly gained her a large following on Instagram, where over 245,000 people were inspired by her journey and the positive message she spread.
Juanita’s influence extended beyond her business. She was the daughter of the mayor of Lo Barnechea, a town in Chile, and her story resonated deeply within her community. As her illness progressed, Juanita continued to share messages of hope and resilience, touching the lives of many who were facing their own challenges.
In one of her final posts, she wrote, “Hope is peace for me. I think hope can always beat fear. We might not be able to change the problems and challenges that life throws at us, but we can change how we take them on and how we live with them. It makes me feel good to hold on to my little piece of hope.”
Juanita passed away on a Saturday, leaving behind a legacy of courage and inspiration. Her family shared the news with great sadness but also with a sense of hope, believing that she had found peace in Heaven. In their statement, they expressed their deep regret at her passing but also their enduring faith.
