Prince Harry and Meghan Markle changed their children’s last names. When they were working for the Royal family, their full names were Archie Harrison Mountbatten-Windsor and Lilibet Diana Mountbatten-Windsor.
But now, Archie goes by Archie Sussex and Lilibet goes by Lilibet Sussex. This change reflects Harry and Meghan’s title as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex. They made this decision after King Charles became the king.
Some people think this name change is a way to distance themselves from the Royal family in England. However, using different last names is not new for Harry. He used the last name “Wales” while serving in the army.
A recent book claimed that Queen Elizabeth was upset that Harry and Meghan named their daughter Lilibet after her. Harry feels frustrated because he says they got the Queen’s permission to use the name. He believes there’s a campaign against them now that the Queen can’t defend herself.
Interestingly, Prince Harry’s birth name isn’t actually Harry. It’s Henry Charles Albert David. He once talked to a 4-year-old named Henry and admitted he doesn’t know why people call him Harry.
During the conversation, Harry mentioned that Archie is very busy, and Lilibet is learning to use her voice. The public hasn’t seen much of the kids lately since the family now lives quietly in California with three dogs.
It’s not clear if Harry and Meghan will ever return to social media. They deleted their Instagram account after leaving the royal family.
