Legendary guitarist Slash, known for his work with Guns N’ Roses, recently shared tragic news. On July 22, Slash posted on social media that his stepdaughter, Lucy-Bleu Knight, had passed away peacefully in Los Angeles on July 19. She was only 25 years old.
Lucy-Bleu, a young artist, had posted her final message on Instagram just 11 hours before her passing, likely scheduled ahead of time. In her post, she expressed regret over her actions and behavior, apologizing for making people feel excluded, being manipulative, and drowning real issues in toxic positivity. She acknowledged her missed opportunities and connections due to her big ego, insecurity, and fear of vulnerability. She ended her message with a hope that her soul would learn to evolve from her mistakes.
Lucy-Bleu was the biological daughter of Meegan Hodges, Slash’s longtime girlfriend. Following her passing, Slash canceled several performances on his S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival tour to be with his family during this difficult time. Meegan responded to her daughter’s last post with a heartfelt comment, expressing her immense love and sorrow.
In his statement, Slash described Lucy-Bleu as a talented artist, a passionate dreamer, and a sweet, lovable soul. The cause of her death has not been confirmed yet. Slash’s statement also requested privacy for the family and asked people to minimize social media speculation as they grieve.
