Jaw-Sculpting Surgery To Give Myself A Thinner Face Gave Me Second-Degree Burns

Victoria Quezada, a woman from Sacramento, California, shared her distressing experience on TikTok after suffering second-degree burns from a jaw-sculpting procedure intended to give her a thinner face.

Victoria underwent a non-invasive beauty treatment called CoolSculpting, also known as cryolipolysis, which targets and freezes fat cells to eliminate them. The treatment promises to reduce up to 20-25% of stubborn fat, and it seemed like a harmless way to achieve a more defined jawline.

However, Victoria’s experience turned into a nightmare. She posted a video to warn others about the potential risks, revealing that she now faces permanent scarring and has lost her ability to talk due to the severe swelling affecting her vocal cords.

Victoria describes the aftermath: just a week after the treatment, she had already made two emergency room visits. She gives a graphic warning before showing her burns, which include blisters and significant swelling under her chin. The procedure not only failed to define her jawline but also left her with a severely swollen face.

Victoria’s TikTok video has received over 1.1 million views and more than 143,000 likes. Many viewers expressed shock and sympathy, urging her to take legal action against the clinic.

Some commenters, including professionals in the beauty industry, emphasized that her outcome was not normal and suggested that the clinic might have performed the procedure incorrectly.

One esthetician noted that Victoria’s burns were likely due to improper application, such as forgetting the protective liner and gel trap, which should prevent direct skin damage.

As Victoria considers legal action, she pleads for help, explaining how difficult it has become to look at herself in the mirror.
