In Tennessee, there are lots of kids in foster care, but not enough families to take care of them. One of those kids was Andrew, a 12-year-old from Nashville who had been moving from one family to another for a long time. But then, something changed for him. He was welcomed into the Gill family.
The Gills already had a son named Joc, and as soon as Joc met Andrew, they became best friends. They did everything together, like playing games and going for walks. Kevin and Dominique Gill saw how close the boys had become, so they decided to adopt Andrew and make him part of their family forever.
Andrew didn’t know it was coming. One day, while he was walking in the park with Molly Parker, who worked with Youth Villages, he got a big surprise. His foster parents were there, and they asked him if he wanted to be part of their family forever. Andrew said yes right away.
Now, Andrew and Joc aren’t just best friends – they’re brothers. It’s a happy ending for both of them. They get to stay together and be part of a loving family. And that’s a beautiful thing.
