Julie and Andy Kemp were driving home from church with their 8-year-old son, Landon, when a terrible accident happened. An ambulance suddenly crashed into their car at an intersection.
The crash was devastating. Andy, Landon’s father, died instantly, and Julie was severely injured. She was rescued and taken to the hospital, but at first, no one realized that Landon was still in the car.
The rescue team found Landon only after they discovered a child’s shoe in the wreckage. When they pulled him out, he wasn’t breathing. The emergency medical technicians (EMTs) quickly started to resuscitate him, and after a few minutes, Landon began to breathe again.
However, his ordeal was far from over. On the way to the hospital, Landon died two more times, but each time the medical team managed to bring him back to life.
The doctors were not optimistic about Landon’s chances of recovery. They warned his mother, Julie, that even if he survived, he would likely be severely brain-damaged due to the head trauma he had suffered. They told her that he might remain in a state similar to that of an 8-year-old baby, unable to function normally.
But then, something incredible happened. Landon, who had been in a coma for two weeks, suddenly woke up. Not only did he open his eyes, but he could see and respond normally. The doctors and medical staff were amazed by his recovery, which seemed like a miracle.
As Landon regained consciousness, Julie knew she had to tell him about his father’s death. She asked him if he knew where his dad was, and Landon’s response left her stunned. He calmly told his mother, “Yes, I know where he is.” Then, he added five words that brought Julie to tears: “I saw him in heaven.”
