Johnny Wactor, a well-loved actor from the TV show General Hospital, has died. He was 37 years old. The tragic event happened in Los Angeles when Wactor and a coworker encountered three men trying to steal the catalytic converter from his car.
This was early in the morning on May 25. Wactor did not try to stop the men, but they shot him anyway and then ran away. He was taken to the hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Wactor’s mother, Scarlett, confirmed the sad news. She shared that her son was helping a coworker to her car when they saw the suspects around his vehicle. Despite not resisting, Wactor was shot by the thieves.
David Shaul, Wactor’s agent, expressed his grief in a statement. He described Wactor as not only a talented actor but also a great person who inspired those around him with his hard work and determination. Shaul mentioned that working with Wactor for over a decade was a privilege, and his absence will leave a significant void in their hearts.
Wactor’s brother, Grant, also spoke about the incident. He explained that their Southern upbringing meant they never let a woman walk alone to her car.
Grant shared that Wactor initially thought his truck was being towed. When he realized what was happening, he tried to protect his coworker by placing her behind him. That’s when he was shot in the chest.
Grant described his brother as the hardest working person he had ever met, a great brother, and someone who positively impacted everyone he met. He also highlighted Wactor’s genuine and charismatic nature, both in real life and on camera.
Wactor’s death is a huge loss to his family, friends, and fans. He will be remembered for his dedication, kindness, and the positive influence he had on those who knew him.
