Emily Gold, a 17-year-old cheerleader who recently appeared on America’s Got Talent (AGT), tragically passed away in what authorities confirmed.
Her body was found late Friday night, under an overpass in Rancho Cucamonga, California.
The San Bernardino Coroner’s Office ruled her death a suicide. Before her body was discovered, she had been struck multiple times by vehicles, one of which did not stop after hitting her, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Emily’s death came just a month after she performed with her high school cheerleading team on America’s Got Talent. The team made it to the quarterfinals, where their performance earned them a standing ovation from the judges.
Their routine had impressed everyone, including the famously tough Simon Cowell. The team’s participation in AGT marked a high point for Emily and her teammates, showcasing their hard work and talent on a national stage.
Her death has left her family, friends, and the entire community devastated. Emily’s brother, Alex, shared his grief in an emotional post on Instagram. He expressed his heartbreak, saying, “The times we spent together won’t ever be enough.
Half my heart is gone without you.” His words reflected the deep pain and loss he felt over his sister’s passing, as he bid her farewell by writing, “Rest in heaven Emily Gold because it will always be your home.”
The cheerleading team from Los Osos High School, where Emily was a senior, has also been deeply affected by her death. Having experienced the highs of performing on AGT, her sudden loss has shocked those close to her.
Friends and family have come together to remember Emily as a bright, talented young woman who had a promising future ahead.
