A guy found a wallet with $700 inside. A few days later, he saw a note saying that whoever found the wallet would get a $50 prize from a rich man who lost it.
When he returned the wallet to the owner, the wealthy man accused him of taking some money because there was only $700 left, not $750 as he claimed.
They couldn’t agree, so they went to court. The poor guy explained his side first. Then, the rich man said, “Your Honor, I trust you, you trust me.” The judge nodded, making the poor guy worried and the rich man smirk.
But then, surprisingly, the judge gave the wallet back to the poor guy. The rich man got mad, asking why.
The judge said, “You seem honest, but if the guy who found it was a liar, he wouldn’t have returned it at all. The money stays with him unless someone else claims it.”
The rich man wanted his money back, but the judge said they had to wait until his wallet with $750 was found.
