On a significant Friday evening, a girl extends an invitation to her boyfriend to join her for dinner with her parents. Anticipation fills the air as she discloses her intention: after the meal, they’ll take a momentous step together by making love for the first time. Ecstatic yet inexperienced, the boy heads to a pharmacy to procure condoms, recognizing the gravity of the situation.
The pharmacist becomes his impromptu mentor, guiding him through a comprehensive lesson on condoms and intimacy. The much-anticipated night arrives, and the boy arrives at the girl’s parents’ home. Greeted at the door by his girlfriend, he senses her excitement. “I can’t wait for you to meet my parents. Come on in!” she exclaims.
Inside, he’s led to the dining table where the girl’s parents are seated, awaiting the introduction. Swiftly, he offers to lead the grace before the meal and lowers his head in reverence. As time elapses, the boy remains immersed in prayer, his head steadfastly bowed. One minute turns into ten, yet he remains frozen in his pious posture.
The minutes on, reaching twenty, and still, there’s no sign of movement from the boy. At last, after what seems like an eternity, the girlfriend leans in and whispers teasingly, “I had no idea you were this devoutly religious.” With a gentle turn of his head, the boy responds in a hushed tone, “I had no idea your father was a pharmacist.”
In this humorous tale, the boy’s earnest intention to maintain a posture of respect is turned into a comedic twist when he discovers that the girl’s father, the recipient of his devout attention, was the very same pharmacist who had imparted wisdom about condoms earlier. The story light-heartedly navigates the awkwardness of intimate topics colliding with unexpected situations, creating a comical moment of realization for both the characters and the readers.
