A tragic accident occurred early Saturday morning on the road between Uyuni and Colchani in the western Potosi region of Bolivia.
Two buses collided head-on, resulting in the deaths of at least 37 people and leaving 39 others injured. The injured were transported to four hospitals in the town of Uyuni for medical treatment.
The crash happened when one of the buses swerved into the opposite lane, likely due to speeding, according to a statement from the Departmental Police Command of Potosi.
The force of the collision was so severe that one of the buses rolled onto its side. A crane had to be brought in to lift the bus and retrieve the bodies. Authorities are still working to identify those who lost their lives.

This tragic incident adds to a string of recent traffic accidents. Earlier in the week, a separate accident in north-west London resulted in the death of one person and injuries to three others.
This crash occurred around 9 p.m. on Monday on Whitmore Road in Harrow when a bus collided with a car on a residential street.
Emergency services responded quickly to the London crash. The London Ambulance Service dispatched ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, an incident response officer, members of the hazardous area response team (HART), and command support vehicles.
Despite their efforts, one person was pronounced dead at the scene. Two patients were taken to a major trauma center, while one was treated and discharged on site.
