The world’s tallest woman and the shortest woman recently met for an extraordinary afternoon tea at the Savoy Hotel in London.
This event was organized by Guinness World Records to mark Guinness World Records Day 2024, bringing these two remarkable individuals together to celebrate their unique titles.
Rumeysa Gelgi, who holds the title of the world’s tallest woman, stands at an impressive 7 feet tall. She comes from Turkey and has a rare condition called Weaver syndrome, which causes rapid growth and affects her skeletal structure.
Due to her condition, Rumeysa relies on a walker to stand and move around. Despite these challenges, she works as a web designer and embraces life with a positive outlook.
On the other hand, Jyoti Amge, the world’s shortest woman, measures just 24 inches tall, which is about 2 feet. Originally from India, Jyoti is an actress known for her role in “American Horror Story.” Unlike Rumeysa, she has no genetic conditions affecting her size. Her height simply makes her one of a kind.
When the two women met, the contrast in their heights was striking, as shown in photos shared by Guinness World Records.
However, their differences didn’t stop them from forming a connection. They chatted like old friends, bonding over their shared experiences of living with such unique physical traits.
Rumeysa shared her excitement about the meeting, saying, “It was amazing to meet Jyoti for the first time.
It was a bit hard to make eye contact because of our height difference, but it was a wonderful experience.” She added that they discovered some shared interests, such as makeup, self-care, and doing their nails.
Jyoti also expressed her joy, saying, “I’m used to looking up at everyone because they’re taller than me, but today, I was so happy to look up and see the world’s tallest woman.”
She described Rumeysa as kind and easy to talk to, making her feel comfortable during their time together.
