This Is The Day’s Positive Story: a Girl Who Suffers From Gigantea Has Surgery And Loses 10 Kilograms (22 Pounds)

Thaynara Marcondes, a 22-year-old student from Mandirituba, Brazil, recently underwent life-changing breast reduction surgery.

Thaynara had been struggling with a rare condition called gigantomastia, which caused her breasts to grow excessively, reaching a weight of 10 kilograms (22 pounds).

This condition made her daily life very difficult. Even simple tasks became challenging, and her quality of life suffered greatly.

Thaynara recalls how the condition affected her clothing choices. “I couldn’t wear a bra anymore,” she said. She described a moment when she tried on eight different shirts, only to find none of them fit. Eventually, she gave up and packed away all her clothes.

The challenges went beyond wardrobe issues. The condition first appeared in February and quickly disrupted her routine.

It became nearly impossible for her to work out, handle tasks at her daycare assistant job, or even carry out basic activities. “I just couldn’t take it any longer,” Thaynara admitted. Being petite, the added weight caused her significant back pain, making her life unbearable.

In late October, Thaynara underwent surgery, which cost R$40,000. The operation has given her a new start, and she is now focused on recovery.

She looks forward to returning to activities she once enjoyed, like going to the gym, running, and wearing a bikini. “I want to be active and do all the things I couldn’t do before,” she said enthusiastically.

Thaynara is also using her experience to raise awareness about gigantomastia. She shares her recovery journey on social media, aiming to educate others about the condition and its impact.

“I want other women to know they’re not alone,” she says. The surgery has brought immense relief and joy, allowing her to feel like herself again.

Gigantomastia, also known as breast hypertrophy or macromastia, is a rare medical condition where the breasts grow abnormally large due to excessive breast tissue.

This can lead to physical pain, emotional distress, and body image issues.
