A police officer on horseback spots a young girl riding her bike down the street. Being a responsible officer, he notices that the bike doesn’t have a reflector light on it, so he decides to give her a bit of friendly advice.
The officer, wanting to make his point in a light-hearted way, asks the girl, “Did Santa get you that bike?” The little girl, not thinking too much of it, replies, “Yes, Santa did.”
The cop, still in a playful mood, says, “Well, tell Santa to put a reflector light on it next year!” But then, to the girl’s surprise, he hands her a $5 fine for not having the light on her bike.
Now, this little girl isn’t about to let that slide without getting in a clever comeback of her own. She looks up at the officer and notices his horse.
With a quick wit beyond her years, she smiles and asks, “Nice horse you’ve got there, did Santa bring you that?” The officer, clearly enjoying the banter, laughs and says, “He sure did!”
But the little girl’s punchline was yet to come. Without missing a beat, she fires back, “Well, next year, tell Santa that the **** goes under the horse, not on top of it!”
It’s a classic example of a kid’s unexpected humor catching adults off guard, and it’s a reminder that sometimes, even in serious situations, a little humor can go a long way.
The officer probably didn’t expect to get roasted by a young girl that day.
