Newlywed Couple From Tennessee Lost Their Lives Just 48 Hours After Tying The Knot

A tragic accident claimed the lives of a newlywed couple from Tennessee, Jessiah Plemons and Lily Rose, just 48 hours after they tied the knot.

The Knoxville Police Department reported that Jessiah, who was 31, and Lily, 25, were driving with their friend Madison Davis, 23, when their car veered off the road.

They were on an exit ramp on Interstate 40 in Knoxville when their vehicle struck a guardrail. After getting out of their car to wait for help, a Chevrolet truck hit them, and all three were killed on the spot. The driver of the truck survived and was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Jessiah and Lily had kept their wedding a secret and only revealed their big news through social media after they got married. They surprised their friends and family with the announcement, but sadly, most of their loved ones didn’t get the chance to congratulate them before the tragedy occurred.

Jessiah’s mother, Michelle Plemons, was especially heartbroken. She had been asked to care for Jessiah’s two children, whom he had taken in from his sister to give them a better life.

Lily also had two children of her own, making them a blended family. When someone knocked on her door, Michelle believed it was Jessiah and Lily returning home after celebrating their wedding. But instead, she received the devastating news that no parent ever wants to hear.

“Next thing you know, I get a knock on my door. And it’s just, it’s every mother’s nightmare. Every mother’s nightmare,” Michelle said in an interview with WATE. She went on to describe how Jessiah had been the glue that held their family together and how Lily had brought happiness into his life.

Jessiah’s sister, Milea Effler, also spoke about her brother on a GoFundMe page created in his memory. She shared how Jessiah had overcome difficulties earlier in his life, including a battle with addiction, and had finally turned his life around.

He had stepped up to care for his niece and nephew, offering them a stable home. He had embraced the role of a father to both his and Lily’s children, determined to provide them with a better future.

This heartbreaking accident left both families and the community in shock, mourning the loss of a couple who had only just begun their new life together.
