Big Ed Brown, a well-known figure from TLC’s reality show 90 Day Fiancé, recently announced that his engagement to Porscha Raemond has ended.
The announcement came just one week after he proposed to her at a restaurant. In a post on Instagram, the 59-year-old reality star explained that after some deep reflection, he realized he had rushed into the proposal, which he now sees as a mistake. Despite the breakup, he expressed respect and love for Porscha, showing that there are no hard feelings between them.
In a video that followed his Instagram post, Big Ed admitted that his decision to propose was impulsive and that he wasn’t ready for such a big commitment so soon. He described their relationship as a whirlwind romance and thanked his fans for their continued support during this time.
Their brief romance began just a week prior when they met at a sandwich shop in Florida. Porscha had walked in, approached Big Ed with open arms, and even gave him a hug and a kiss on the cheek. The two hit it off instantly, and Big Ed invited her to hang out the following night. However, things escalated quickly when, with encouragement from a friend, he ended up proposing to her that evening. The proposal was spontaneous, and Big Ed used a paperclip, provided by the restaurant manager, as a makeshift engagement ring.
The proposal was caught on video and shared by TMZ, where it received a variety of reactions. Some people thought the proposal seemed forced or staged, but Big Ed assured everyone that it was genuine. He even described meeting Porscha as “love at first sight” and called her his dream girl.
This wasn’t Big Ed’s first engagement, though. He has been engaged four times, with two of those relationships documented on 90 Day Fiancé. He first became well-known after his previous engagement to Rose Vega, which ended after a dramatic breakup. Following that, he got into a relationship with Liz Woods, who was a manager at his favorite restaurant. Their relationship was full of ups and downs, as they broke up and reconciled more than a dozen times over the years.
