Queen Camilla To Take a Break From Royal Duties Weeks After King Charles’ Cancer Diagnosis

Queen Camilla is set to take a short break from her royal duties after several challenging weeks.

Reports say that she will be stepping away for about a week, with her schedule cleared of any royal engagements. Camilla has been carrying much of the royal responsibilities recently, particularly since King Charles was diagnosed with cancer and is undergoing treatment. The King’s health struggles have prevented him from fulfilling many of his usual duties.

Camilla’s break is said to last until March 11, when she will resume her responsibilities by leading the Royal Family during the Commonwealth Day service at Westminster Abbey. In her absence, other senior members of the royal family will step in to cover her duties.

The news of King Charles’s health has been concerning for many. He was diagnosed with an unspecified type of cancer last month, following treatment for an enlarged prostate.

While he continues to receive treatment, the royal family has not disclosed details about the type or stage of cancer he has. Despite his illness, King Charles has been dividing his time between London and the royal estate at Sandringham in Norfolk, where he has been receiving medical care.

The King recently expressed his deep gratitude for the messages of support he has received from the public, admitting that they had moved him to tears.

Complicating matters further for the royal family, Kate Middleton, the Princess of Wales, was also recently hospitalized. She underwent a planned abdominal procedure in late January and spent 13 days at the London Clinic.

She has been recovering at home since then and is not expected to return to her royal duties until after Easter. Though the Palace has shared limited updates about her condition, they have reassured the public that there is no need for concern.

With both King Charles and Kate Middleton focusing on their recovery, Queen Camilla has taken on a heavier workload in recent weeks. She represented the Royal Family at the memorial service for the late King Constantine of Greece, among other important events.

Given her added responsibilities, this upcoming break is likely a welcome opportunity for her to rest and spend time with King Charles and other family members.
