Tyler’s injury occurred during a concert in Long Island, where he pushed through the performance despite the damage. After the show, Tyler flew to Boston to meet with his ear, nose, and throat (ENT) doctor, who discovered the extent of the injury. Tyler was immediately put on vocal rest for 30 days to allow his vocal cords to heal.
Despite the injury, Tyler’s resilience and determination were evident. He communicated his disappointment to fans, sharing that he was heartbroken by the doctor’s orders to stop singing temporarily. He assured fans that the band would postpone some dates to ensure they could deliver the high-quality performances their fans deserved.
Although there is hope that Tyler’s condition might improve with time and rest, the decision to retire from touring marks the end of an era for Aerosmith.
