An Elderly Couple Was Just Settled Down For Bed When The Old Man Realized He Left The Lights On In The Greenhouse In The Backyard

One night, an elderly couple was getting ready for bed. They had settled down when the old man suddenly remembered that he had left the lights on in their greenhouse in the backyard. This greenhouse was important to them because they grew plants and flowers there.

As the old man lay in bed, he realized he couldn’t just ignore the lights being on. He was about to get up to go turn them off when he and his wife heard some noises. Listening carefully, they realized that there were voices coming from the greenhouse. Three men had broken into it.

The couple was very scared. They didn’t know what the men might do. Quickly, they decided to call the police for help. The old man picked up the phone and dialed 911. The dispatcher answered, and the old man explained that there were intruders in their greenhouse.

However, the dispatcher told the old man that all the police officers were currently busy with other calls. They promised to send someone as soon as possible, but they couldn’t say how long it would take.

The old man was frustrated and worried. He waited a few more minutes but then decided to call the dispatcher again. This time, he told them, “You don’t need to send an officer anymore. I shot the robbers, and now my dogs are eating their bodies!”

His words were a trick. The old man hadn’t shot anyone, and his dogs weren’t eating anyone. But his plan worked. Within a few minutes, police officers arrived at the couple’s house in large numbers. They quickly went to the greenhouse and caught the three men who had broken in.

After the police had the situation under control, one of the officers approached the old man and asked him, “I thought you said you shot the robbers and your dogs were eating them?”

The old man smiled and replied, “And I thought you said there weren’t any officers available.”
