a 9-year-old boy found himself all alone after his mom left him in their apartment for two whole years.
Life wasn’t easy for him without electricity or warmth, but he didn’t give up. He still went to school every day, even though no one noticed him there.
Kind neighbors sometimes gave him food, not knowing how tough things were for him.
He ate canned food, cake, and even tomatoes he found on a neighbor’s balcony. Nights were tough, but he bundled up in blankets to stay warm.
His mom lived nearby, but she hardly ever visited or took care of him.
Nobody knew where his dad was. It took months before anyone realized he was alone, and the neighbors finally called the authorities.
During a court hearing, it came out that his mom had left him to fend for himself. She got in trouble for abandoning him and not keeping him safe.
She had to go to jail for 18 months and wear a bracelet for six more. But the boy didn’t want anything to do with her anymore.
Now, he’s a teenager, living in foster care, hoping for a better life. Despite everything, he stayed strong and kept going to school.
He showed incredible bravery and determination to survive. Let’s hope he finds the love and support he needs to have a happier future.
