Rachel and Brad had a simple wedding, just like they wanted. They planned a big celebration, but Brad’s dad got sick. They changed their plans to have a small wedding because they didn’t know how much time Brad’s dad had left. Brad’s dad asked them to promise to have the wedding no matter what.
Brad’s dad passed away six months before the wedding. On their wedding day, they got many gifts, including a honeymoon from Rachel’s parents and a mysterious gift from Brad’s mom, Vera. She gave them flowers and said a strange number, 1964.
Later, they opened a safe with the code 1964 and found a letter from Brad’s dad and a lot of money. In the letter, Brad’s dad expressed his love and regrets for not being there. He asked Brad to take care of his sisters and be like a father to them.
Brad called Vera to dinner to thank her. They made dumplings, his dad’s favorite food, and left a plate for him. With the money, they could buy a house.
Vera was happy to keep Brad’s dad’s memory alive. Brad promised to be the man his dad wanted him to be. Now, they celebrate their first wedding anniversary, and they’re expecting a baby boy, whom they plan to name Daniel, after Brad’s dad.
When they told Vera about the baby, they gave her flowers and baby shoes. She was happy and emotional, just like they expected.
