What to Do After a Bee Sting on the Knee

A bee sting on the knee can cause sudden pain, redness, swelling, and itching. Because the knee moves constantly, even mild swelling can make walking or bending the leg uncomfortable.

If a stinger remains, gently scrape it sideways with a fingernail or flat-edged object. Wash the area with soap and water, then apply a cold pack wrapped in cloth for 10–15 minutes. Resting and elevating the leg may also help reduce swelling.

Most stings cause only local reactions, but serious allergies can develop. Seek emergency help immediately if you experience difficulty breathing, throat swelling, widespread hives, severe dizziness, or fainting.

If swelling or pain becomes severe or continues worsening, contact a healthcare professional for advice and appropriate treatment.
