The doctor told King Charles some sad news. If the cancer has spread to important parts of his body and is hard to treat, he might only have a few years left to live.
Yesterday, people were surprised to hear that the King has cancer. This news came after he had a big medical procedure for his prostate. Buckingham Palace said it’s not because of his prostate, but a different problem they found during his hospital stay.
When they did tests after his prostate procedure, they found out Charles has a type of cancer. The palace said Charles will take a break from his public duties for treatment, but they are hopeful about his chances.
Charles started regular treatments today. Doctors told him to stay away from public events for now but he’ll keep doing his official work. He’s thankful for his doctors’ quick help and hopes to get back to his public duties soon.
The King shared his diagnosis to help others understand cancer. Medical experts think his cancer might be near his prostate and could be in his liver, stomach, or lung. Treatments can help, but if the cancer has spread, it’s harder to treat.
