A political dispute involving the Biden family has taken a new turn after former Democratic fundraiser Lindy Li revealed that Ashley Biden allegedly threatened to sue her over comments about her father’s condition during the 2024 presidential campaign.
In her new book, Unburdened, Li describes receiving a strongly worded Instagram message in February 2025. According to screenshots she shared with Fox News Digital, Ashley Biden called her a liar and challenged her to consider whether she was “ready for a lawsuit.”
Li believes the message was intended to intimidate her. She said the post disappeared roughly a day later, and no lawsuit was filed.
The former fundraiser also questioned Ashley Biden’s claim that she did not know her, pointing to photographs showing them together on several occasions.
Li says her relationship with Democratic insiders changed dramatically after she publicly argued that Joe Biden should step aside. She claims invitations to White House events stopped following her criticism, although Fox News did not independently establish that the change was retaliation.
The controversy revives questions about what Democratic leaders knew about Biden’s condition before he abandoned his reelection bid in July 2024. However, Li’s allegations remain disputed, and the reported legal threat never resulted in a lawsuit.
