A blonde woman entered a store with the intention of buying a new television. After browsing for a while, she found the perfect TV and approached the salesman to make the purchase. However, the salesman hesitated and told her that he couldn’t sell it to her in good faith, implying that she might not know what she’s looking for. This left the blonde upset, believing that the salesman’s reluctance was due to her gender.
Determined to prove him wrong, she left the store and devised a plan. She bought a disguise, including a short-haired wig and a fake mustache, and returned to the store dressed as a man. She found the same TV and confidently brought it to the counter, using her best male voice to request the purchase. Unfortunately, the salesman saw through her disguise and immediately recognized her as the same woman who had been there earlier. He maintained his refusal to sell her the TV.
Undeterred, the blonde woman decided to make another attempt. This time, she went to a local salon, where she had her hair and eyebrows dyed brunette to alter her appearance. She returned to the store once more, picked up the TV, and placed it on the counter, asking to purchase it. The exasperated salesman couldn’t believe her persistence and slammed his hands on the counter. He told her, “Lady, you can’t keep coming back here and trying to purchase this!” The blonde, now confused, asked how he could see through both of her disguises and if he was some sort of detective.
To her surprise, the salesman’s response left her dumbfounded. He explained that he knew it was her not because of her disguises but because she had been trying to buy a microwave all day, not a TV. The mix-up in the product she was trying to purchase was the source of the salesman’s confusion and frustration, not her appearance or gender. In the end, the blonde’s determination to prove a point had led to a humorous misunderstanding, leaving everyone involved in the story with a good laugh.
