Chris Stapleton Postpones Several Dates on his ‘All American Road Show’ Tour Due to Bronchitis and Laryngitis

On October 11, Chris Stapleton took to his Instagram to share some unfortunate news with his devoted fans. The 45-year-old country superstar, known for hits like “Starting Over” and “Tennessee Whiskey,” revealed that he was battling bronchitis and laryngitis, forcing his medical team to recommend postponing three upcoming shows scheduled for the weekend.

The affected shows were initially slated for October 12 in Corpus Christi, Texas, at the American Bank Center Arena, followed by a performance on October 13 at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion in Houston, Texas, and concluding on October 14 at the Cajundome in Lafayette, Louisiana. While this was undoubtedly disappointing for his fans, Stapleton reassured them by announcing new dates for these shows. Lafayette will now take place on November 16, Houston on November 17, and Corpus Christi on November 18, all at their original venues.

Stapleton also confirmed that previously purchased tickets would be honored, but he encouraged those who couldn’t make it to contact their point of purchase within the next seven days. In a heartfelt letter shared on Instagram, Chris Stapleton expressed his deep regret for having to reschedule, explaining that his doctor had prescribed vocal rest to facilitate his recovery from bronchitis and laryngitis. This was a significant setback for Stapleton, who had been on his highly successful “All-American Roadshow” tour for nine months, starting back in January.

Despite battling through the year, including a grueling schedule in October, he continued to perform. However, this recent health issue forced him to take a temporary break, with plans to resume on October 19 at the AT&T Center in San Antonio, Texas, where he will be joined by special guests Charley Crockett and Nikki Lane.

Aside from the rescheduled November shows, Chris Stapleton’s only other performance this year is on November 11 at the MIDFLORIDA Credit Union Amphitheatre in Tampa, Florida, where he will share the stage with H.E.R. and Imagine Dragons. Following these shows, he is set to take a break until May 2024. This isn’t the first time Stapleton has faced laryngitis-related challenges. In October 2021, he was compelled to postpone shows to focus on his recovery, after initially moving one performance to November.

His commitment to his music and fans shines through, as he expresses his gratitude for sharing the musical journey with his dedicated audience. Stapleton has previously conquered laryngitis-related setbacks, and with his upcoming shows and an international tour planned for 2024, he’s undoubtedly gearing up for a well-deserved break. Despite the disappointment, fans showed overwhelming support for the artist during his time of recovery, knowing that sometimes, these circumstances are beyond anyone’s control.
