Jessica Quinn’s life took an unexpected turn when, at just eight years old, she suffered a terrible accident while playing soccer, breaking her femur. Despite numerous treatments, her bone wouldn’t heal, and doctors made a shocking discovery—she had osteosarcoma, a bone cancer. Determined to save her life, Jessica underwent intense chemotherapy, which caused her weight to plummet dangerously low.
Faced with two options, Jessica chose a groundbreaking surgery known as rotationplasty, a procedure that removed the middle part of her leg, rotated it 180 degrees, and reattached it to her thigh. This unique approach allowed her ankle to function as her knee joint, granting her a better quality of life than traditional amputation options.
Over time, Jessica learned to embrace her new reality and gained self-confidence. She refused to conform to society’s narrow standards of beauty and became an inspiration to millions. As an athlete, model, and influencer with a massive TikTok following, she aimed to challenge the notion of the “perfect body” portrayed in the media and advocated for more diverse representation.
Participating in Dancing With the Stars, Jessica raised funds for New Zealand’s Child Cancer Foundation, pushing herself beyond her comfort zone and motivating others with her determination.
Despite her positive impact on countless lives, Jessica faced the ugly side of the internet—trolls who left hateful comments, especially after she proudly shared a video of her pregnant belly.
