Peter Noone, former teen heartthrob and member of the band Herman’s Hermits, achieved fame and success in the 1960s. With hits like “I’m Into Something Good” and “No Milk Today,” the band became iconic and even outsold the Beatles at one point. Despite the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle of the era, Noone stayed away from drugs but indulged in other typical habits of a young musician.
Now 64, Noone continues to tour as part of Britain’s Solid Silver 60s Show, alongside other musical stars from the era. He still enjoys the thrill of performing and appreciates the enduring support from fans who sing his old songs to his face. Having lived in California since the 1970s, he has embraced a healthier lifestyle and feels fortunate to have survived the debauchery of the 1960s.
At 19, Noone attended his first Alcoholics Anonymous meeting with his father and decided to cut down on drinking to maintain his ability to perform on stage. He hasn’t had a drink in about 16 years but allows his wife to drink if she wishes. Noone has been married to his wife, Mirielle, for 43 years, and they have a daughter named Nicole.
After leaving the band in 1971, Noone pursued a solo career and later appeared in Broadway productions and as a host on television music shows. He even served as a mentor and voice coach on American Idol. Noone reflects on his journey, acknowledging that he has grown and changed from the shy young boy he once was.
At 75 years old, Peter Noone still exudes charisma and retains his youthful charm. He continues to captivate audiences with his fantastic voice and remains grateful for the opportunity to pursue his passion at his age.
