Christian Burrows, who’s 19, went on a famous show called The X Factor. He looked up to Ed Sheeran and wanted to be like him. When Simon Cowell, one of the judges, asked if he could sing one of his own songs, Christian got nervous. But he bravely said yes.
Christian revealed that he wrote a song for his little brother who died when he was young. Simon was surprised but asked him to go ahead. Christian sang a touching song called “Thunder Buddy” about his late brother Nathan. It was a song he had only sung twice before, once for his mom and once for his dad.
Christian’s performance was heartfelt. His lyrics were so moving that they made the judges emotional. Even though Christian was just 19, his songwriting talent was clear. The video of his audition got over 14 million views, showing how much people loved his authenticity.
After his performance, Christian shared that his brother Nathan died when he was only 3 months old. He was just a toddler himself at the time. Christian wondered what it would be like to have a relationship with his late brother now.
Despite the sadness in his past, Christian’s bravery and talent touched many hearts. He got four yeses from the judges, meaning he could continue in the competition. Christian’s story reminds us that sometimes, the most powerful performances come from the deepest emotions.
